About Witchy Girl
I’m a flower sniffing, animal kissing, moon loving Witchy Girl. A healer, artist, teacher and priestess.
I grew up in the artist colony of Laguna Beach. A free spirited small town that inspired my love of nature and the arts. Our high school mascot was “The Artists” and we had P.E. classes on the beach. Very blessed.
I was raised by an Episcopalian Priest (Father Daddy) and a Mexican Catholic Mom (Mamacita del Mundo) Unlike most preacher kids I loved sitting in Church. I loved the ritual, ceremony and sacred space. I loved waving to my Dad at the altar in his ceremonial robes. “But why is it always led by men?”, I wondered as a little girl. As an aspiring theater kid I wanted to be up there too. The magical words, the sacraments, the smells and bells. It was a big deal in 1976 when the Episcopal Church ordained Women. Wahoo!
I started on a spiritual quest. Was there a time long ago when Women were the channel to the divine?
My family DNA whispered, “Remember the Witches of Great Britain and the Medicine Women of Northern Mexico.” The days long ago before, when God was also a Woman. When we lit a candle to Goddess. The days when priestesses, healers and midwives tended to the souls and bodies of their community. Encoded in my cells is the memory of a Woman’s power. A time when her magic was revered and not demonized. Maybe you have those memories too. Maybe you are a great-grand child of the witches they didn’t burn.
It’s time to bring her back.
Nope, not the Hollywood evil green one. The Witch as the archetype of a beautiful and wise healer. The powerful mystic and nature loving Goddess…sprinkled with a bit of enchantment and deep mystery.
Why did I create “Witchy Girl?” To help us remember her-story and to celebrate that we are made of stars and born of Magic!

Witchcraft & Why We Need It
What is Witchcraft?
Is it the lighting of incense and incantations? Maybe it’s meditation or yoga or smudging your house with sage to get rid of bad Ju-Ju. Is it elaborate rituals connected with old Pagan traditions? Maybe it’s asking the tooth fairy for money in exchange for a body part.
Maybe witchcraft is the simple candle magic of making a wish on your birthday cake. Maybe it’s all of the above.
Witchcraft 101 Being in tune with the power of Nature and the Universe. Using the divine powers that be to attract wants and desires for the greater good. Zap…poof!
Being Witch curious you can buy your candles and tarot cards on Amazon and don’t have to worry about being burned at the stake. You can wear crystals or pentagrams and most people will not think that you lead Hollywood style Satanic rituals. Wanna-be Witchy is trendy but there is a deeper truth.
The spread of Witch awareness is linked to something bigger. Women are wanting to embody the Archetype of the Witch. She is wise and powerful. She stands connected in sisterhood for the greater good of the planet and her children. She is connected to nature and her own divinity. Her spiritual path is personal.
The “something bigger” started with the need for change. A cry out to the sacred feminine. The “Me too” movement and the women’s marches woke us up across the globe.
The Witches are back. In standing up for reproductive rights we may not be burned but can have our morality questioned. Stand up for what you believe. We may no longer be stoned to death but can be belittled for being strong willed and outspoken. Be strong willed and outspoken. They can’t drown us for having a black cat but we can protect our planet and it’s creatures.
Now more than ever our culture calls for the return of an egalitarian society, where the divine feminine can live in love and partnership with the divine masculine. The dinosaurs are dying and the Witches are back.
Cast a spell for good. Anyway you want to do it is just fine.
